A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.
Only the Skilled Survive
A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history - with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila.

can someone plz make a video going step by step because I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks they will get lost..thanks![]()
Ok im at this step (FYI my phone is currently rooted from adding 2.0.1 so Im familiar with how to do it) but not sure what Im doing wrong this time>
Step 4: So by now you should be in the "Android System Recovery" menu. Just hit "update with the update.zip". It will take a little bit maybe a minute or two.
Its not prompting me with update with the update.zip and I have already renamed and copied this file to the root of the sd card. All I see is something along the lines of apply sdcard - update.zip (on this same screens I get an error E:Can't Open /cache/recovery/command) which I tried and it said the the update file was installed successfully but then I dont see the Super User app in the applications. Any idea?

When I have the "Droid Root Helper" open i choose "Mount mtdblock3 System read/write". And a Info box pops up and says "System mounted as read/write". Is that correct? Is that all its supposed to do? Does it the same on the "Mount mtdblock4 System read/write".
Anyone? Great tutorial so far...thanks guys
Ok, it's "apply sdcard:update.zip". That is the update with the update.zip.
Next, the original droidroot.zip used here didn't include the Superuser Permissions app. this link AllDroid.org - View topic - How to Root your Droid<<<ONLY you can get it from the second post there, its a root update with the superuser permission app, or you can download it here http://alldroid.org/download/file.php?id=659
Thanks Ill try that again
