How to install: 2.1 the easy way

Hi all, using the steps above, at step 13, when i boot into the new android system recovery, I have no option to make a backup. not sure what to do next, I don't want to apply the 2.1 update until i know i have a backup. basically the menu looks the same as it always has. any suggestions. my phone is rooted and busybox installed. thanks

One other quick note, when i restarted the phone, and connected to my pc, i also notice that i don't have the nandroid folder on my sd card as noted in step 17, the droid helper program indicated that the tasks were completed when i used the program, any ideas?

To get your apps back just go the the app store and go to downloads they are all saved and waiting for you.

TO INSTALL NANDROID:

Goto Sholes, download latest version 0.14.1 as of this writing
move to phone (cant download on phone)
goto the terminal (i use terminal emulator)
type
su
flash_image recovery recovery-0.14.1.img

tadah!

move to phone (cant download on phone)
goto the terminal (i use terminal emulator)
type
su
flash_image recovery recovery-0.14.1.img

I moved the file to the root of my sd and I get an error that cannot find the file or directory.

See...this is how you write a guide for noobs.

Go back into the droid helper app, mount the phone, reflash the recovery image, scroll up and hit the rename recovery image (or whatever option is there), then unmount the phone and reboot into recovery. Ver 2.0.1 reflashes the phone's default recovery image when rebooting. If the default is not renamed, you will lose the custom recovery image that you flash through the droid helper app. Once the image is renamed and you reboot into recovery, the options for nandroid should be there. Didn't see this step in the op's write up
