Is there any way to lock a S3 to prevent unwanted apps from being downloaded without your consent?

Well most aps need your consent. Do you have "Allown unknown apps" checked? Or are you talking updates?

No im talking about from the google play. Dont want stuff being downloaded without me knowing.

Do you man updates? Google Play wont just send you an app...

Are apps actually downloading by themselves, or do you have apps that are auto updating?

No. My daughter and girlfriend play with my phone and download all kinds of stuff from the app world and I wanna suprise them with a lock.

Go to the play store and search "Parental Controls" you will see many options.
