    not so sure now

I just read a gs3 review on Android Central that proclaimed the phone as the absolute best. But then, I read some of the forums and you get a different feeling from owners. Who's right?

No matter which device is in question there are going to be mixed reviews. I read tons of bad about the lte galaxy nexus, yet I have had not an issue with it. Opinions are almost sure to be different from person to person and site to site.

Were you looking to buy it? If so I would say the best thing to do is some research, watch videos, wait for some feedback in here, and above all else, go to the store and check it out in person. Getting some hands on time with it will be invaluable to your decision.

As someone who works with a lot of people all day, every single day, believe me when I say that those who comment on forums or news articles etc are the perfect definition of the vocal minority. Most people have no problems with their phones, but the people who do look for solutions on the internet and end up here. It's good to get a general idea if others are having the same issue, and is a great tool for information and ideas, but really should be combined with a trip to the VZW store to try it out. I've even had employees let me test their personal work phones out and not just the demo model. Compare it to others you're considering. Narrow it down, and don't decide until you decide.

That's what I do anyways, and it's worked out well so far. I learned it the hard way with the X2..

    Quoted for truth.

If you have no problems with a phone, you're not going to constantly go online and say "I have no problems with my phone" for absolutely no reason. But many of those who do have problems will often actively, and at times aggressively, seek answers via online forums. Forums can give you a lot of useful information and perspectives, but normally what you'll see will skew negative, regardless of the device, simply because that's where people go to find answers for issues they're experiencing.

And, as far as phones go, what's right for one person isn't necessarily right for another person. So, there's no straightforward answer to your question of who is right. If you're considering the S3, or any other phone, k1ngr4t is right. Take a look at one in person along with doing research online. Personally, I haven't had a single issue with my S3, and that has surprised me since I had nothing but trouble with the Galaxy Nexus (and I went through four brand new ones), the Droid Charge, and the Stratosphere.

People generally only post on forums when there is a problem which is why it sounds like everyone is having problems.
