Is the phone radio bad? Will they exchange the phone for this?

    Thanks in advance!

Ryan, I think I am in the same boat as you. I certainly don't expect the phone to last 2 days, or even a day and a half. Light use for me, some browsing, download face book app - I am at 79% after 2hrs20min. 1hr12min of that was deep sleep.

To be honest guys, those screen shots are pretty perplexing. With that much deep sleep (90%) you should easily get 18± hours out of a single charge. Also, the fact that you have stellar cell coverage leads me to believe there's a serious issue with either the phone or the actual battery.

My best advice is to take the phone back to Verizon and politely demand either an exchange or a new battery, because something is definitely not right here. If Verizon gives you some bs that its normal, don't give in, demand an exchange.

I don't know if the SGIII has a Safe Mode feature like the Motorola Droids do, but if so, I'd give that a try.

I am also suspicious of the first two applications, draw some and minimalistic text, as together they used over 40% of the 63% (or about 30%) of battery power that was consumed there, even more than the launcher. I can't for the life of me understand why a drawing application would consume so much power.

just spoke with a rep and got no where with customer service - was very kinda and laid the details down plainly.

    30min test
    25 minute deep sleep
    99% 5/5 4g connection
    6% battery drop

her response is that this is a smartphone, and I kindly responded that at that rate I would have a dead phone in 9 hours or less with about an hour of screen time.

i have until monday to exchange for a new phone, which I will probably do.

    Fox,

I was just reading your posts in the Raxr forum - regarding battery metering and the ICS update. very interesting posts, and I will try that before i give up this phone for the maxx.

any other insight would be fantastic.

Just wondering what do the Razor Maxx people do when their battery will not longer take a good charge? Do you have to sent it in to Motorola? Can Verizon store put in a new battery? A lot of people keep their phones more than the two years and that is about the life of a battery.

Battery seems to be holding up somewhat better. Light use though. Still would not call this good. Still playing.

I just watched a 3.5 hr movie LOTR Return of the King on my S3, I have at least a dozen movies on my micro SD card "I use DVD Catalyst to convert my DVD's", well it only burned 45% of my battery, not bad for watching a high resolution flick with screen brightness set to max on a 4.8" screen. My previous Rezound needed the extended battery to come even close. Looks like the S4 Krait chip at 28nm is much more efficient than the previous 45nm S3.
And by the way it looked FANTASTIC.
