What is the best way to switch apps and such to new Galaxy G3? Getting G3 tmo

My order tracking from VZ shows my delivery for tomorrow I ordered it Tuesday. I backed up my pics & videos to my computer for safety because my old INC2 got wet and it acting funking.

So I have most apps moved to my SD. But I am wondering how to best get the new phone set up. What does google backup and what do I need to do prior to activating the new phone? Has anyone found any good ways of making the change to a new phone?

I have been cleaning out the old so I dont move things I dont need anymore. What else should I be thinking of?

When I logged into my SG3 for the first time Google asked if I wanted to sync (or restore or something). I said yes and it download all the apps I had installed on my OG Droid automatically. Pretty cool. Knew it would do contacts since those are stored in Google Contacts, but not having to go through and download each app was great. There were some I didn't really want, but I just removed those. It didn't load any pics or videos from my Droid.
