Can someone report on how this white theme impacts battery? Love the theme, it's gorgeous! Just afraid of what all those white pixels might do to my battery life...

Gnex is pentile, and pentile likes black and white unsaturated colors so think it is safe

I want it!
I'm from Nouvoyance, creators of PenTile technology. I blogged in the past that black and white, pastel colors which include lots of white, as well as photos and videos which also contain lots of white are all especially power efficient for PenTile RGBW LCDs such as that used in Motorola Atrix, Photon, or Bionic. So it is understandable that someone would think that this was also true for the Galaxy Nexus.
However, there are two kinds of PenTile displays in use today: PenTile RGBW LCDs and PenTile RGBG OLED. The Galaxy Nexus uses a PenTile RGBG OLED. The primary reason for using PenTile with OLED is to get to much higher resolution OLEDs without sacrificing brightness or lifetime. Saving power with PenTile OLED is no different than saving power with any other OLED. OLEDs use power where they are lit up. The least amount of display power is to write black since no subpixels are lit. The most power would be used to write bright white. Ranking from most power to least power would be as follows:
- Bright white (all subpixels lit),
- Darker pastels ( all or some pastels partially lit)
- Bright red, green or blue (one subpixel fully lit).
Furthermore some colors have higher luminous efficiency than others and take more power, so it would take a little more power to light up the screen with all blue than all green.
I hope that this helps you pick the best home screen for your Galaxy Nexus.

I do say, I did forget that the Gnex pentile was OLED, but thank you for that informative post
