So I have my wife's Verizon G NEXUS rooted and romed w/ bugless beast's 3.0.8 Android 4.0.3. There are apps popping up on my home page and when I click on it, it takes me to a random page called "Handango". I am also getting weird advertisements in my notification bar. I delete the apps and advertisements but it keeps coming back everyday.

Try installing "Lookout" or "Kaspersky Mobile Lite", run a scan, see if it finds something. It appears something has somehow switched your app store from Google Play to Handango. I'd bet you have a milicious app in there somewhere.

If you are still having issues you might want to try Ad Network Detector or Addons Detector (both on the market (free))

Titanium backup and a launcher that saves its settings and layout....then whenever or if ever u flash a rom or need to wipe/SBF just restore it all thru titanium and bam...

But to answer your question dude its her downloading the apps that are sending ads to the phone. There is no virus, its an app she installed. If she doesn't like it, tough luck. Either don't use the game/app/whatever or deal with the ads
