    Kernels and rooting

    I want to install a new kernel to improve the color just a little. However I am a big movie watcher and I love renting from google play. I can't watch the movies right now due to the root. So my question is can I install the kernel and then unroot without undoing everything? And on a similar note, can I over clock a kernel, unroot and still keep it at the desired speed?
