    doesnt seem like it has really found my device..
    under command prompt.. i typed adb device and it does not list any devices attached

    Ya... You'll have to use command prompt... Once you get adb to recognize it

    why would the computer say I have an android adb device attached.. but "adb device" would say none are attached

    Because the adb driver probably isn't installed properly...

    Easiest way to get it setup would be using something like wugfresh's toolkit

    download wuggfresh
    install the drivers from wugfresh
    computer adb should recognize it now
    Then push files to your phone easy peasy.
    we will drive after a couple beers an NOT make a federal case out of it

    Current Phone: Galaxy Nexus (Rooted and Rommed running JBSorcery 4.3 with Trinity Kernel)

    Retired Phone: Original Droid (Rooted and RunningCyanogenmod 7)
