I have having maps show up in my recent apps list when I don't even use it. I will slide it to remove it and a few hours later I will notice that it returned.
Is there a fix for this?

Logged into Google Latitude?
Current Devices: Galaxy Nexus and iPhone 4S
Previous Devices: Droid 1, Droid X, Droid Charge, Thunderbolt, Droid Bionic, Droid RAZR, Xoom
I have CDO. It's like OCD except the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be.
Nope. I don't have latitude activated on my Gmail account.

I've read that this was caused by an update. I noticed it happening on my phone after I did a factory reset yesterday (and it installed a Maps update).
There are two suggested fixes:
1) Uninstall the updates (supposedly it will prevent maps from keep showing up)
2) Open the app and then leave (this is what I just did and hopefully it'll prevent it from showing up again. I'll report back if it doesn't)
You can also freeze the app and then immediately unfreeze it OR you can wipe data in google maps. I've done both these methods (after individual ROM flashes) and both have worked just fine for me.
Don't be scared, adb is your friend.
