Is it true that the battery on this phone is terrible?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC
That said with some tinkering, I have what I consider good battery life. At the end of a normal work day, 12 - 16hrs not plugged in with 3+ hours of screen on time, I hit around 30%. This is with a bit of music streaming, lots of texts, some twitter usage, some website browsing, some forum browsing, a video or two sometimes, a few phone calls perhaps, and some video games. There will be days I won't drop below 50%, then there will be days where my phone is giving warnings saying "STOP PLAYING GAMES AND PLUG ME IN!!!!" Will you have similar results? YMMV.
It is true that a number of people complain about battery life, but it all depends on what your uses of the device are coupled with your degree of usage (how much you use the device). Also, signal strength can play a significant roll. A weak signal can cause battery life to diminish.
My experience is that I can get a full day out of it (not 24 hours, just the period I am at work plus some at home time). I will say I use wifi at home (typically less battery consumption then 3g/4g) and do not use it at work very much besides my lunch break. There are days where I am using data and using the device a lot where I can drain it in 8 hours or so. This is all on the stock battery.

As previously stated here, battery life is way too subjective to give a solid response. It really does depend on your usage of the device. Personally, I have the extended battery and during the week I might break my phone out a few times throughout the day to check G+, check work email if I'm away from my desk for an extended period, and MAYBE make a call or two. Lately I've been able to go 15-16 hours and still have 30% or so battery remaining.
On weekends I'll keep the phone on wifi whenever I'm home (which is most of the time) and it could go all day without going below 50%.
Like stated...depends on your usage.
VZW has extended batteries on sale and so does Android Central. I have 3 batteries I swap out as needed. I always keep a spare with me (fits great in that little pocket on jeans) when I go out and about but I rarely have to do so. But I use my phone as the need/want arises and having the backup stops me from obessing over how much battery I have left. Typically I get about 15 hours of on-time. I turn my data off when I'm not using it which extends my battery quite a bit (using a toggle makes this easier). But overall now that the GNex is on 4.0.4 it's battery life seems comparable to other smartphones I've had; but I always seem to wish it lasted longer.
Dang it Tesla, where is that broadcasted power you promised us?????
Galaxy S3 and Xoom (time for a new Tablet soon!)
