This is the process I used: [How To] Unlock Bootloader & Root Galaxy Nexus
And this is a very popular guide: Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit
I used this but it does require ADB.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus: All Things Root Guide (updated 1/30/2012) - Android Forums
+1 to what CJM posted. If you really have no knowledge those are the two easiest ways, especially Wug's toolkit. Out of pure laziness I've rooted a few Nexuses/Nexii with Wug's
Nothing wrong with using Wug's kit...if you know how to do it manually as well. I can't tell you how many people have used the kit (which is incredibly helpful and useful by the way) and then not had any idea what to do when they flashed something bad and a wipe wouldn't fix it. I actually prefer doing it manually anyway.
Don't be scared, adb is your friend.
Thank you guys very much. I don't plan on flashing a from I'm just trying to maximize the battery life BC that's my only issue with this phone. What is ADB? I've rooted before on my old d2 many times so I will go with stable over easy. Thanks again I'll repost if I have any more questions
This might help explain adb for you: http://developer.android.com/guide/d...tools/adb.html
