None of the current cameras are awful. I use the Droid 1 as a reference (it had a fantastic camera for it's time)...all of the cameras I have seen are as good or better than the Droid1.

For me the main thing I wanted was good low light quality. That was something I really hated about the Droid 1...it took great pictures, but only in daylight conditions. In lower light the quality dropped real quick.

yeah, the nexus isn't bad at all, however, its not the best by a long shot. as long as you arent expecting photo quality prints from this camera and you are just using it to snap a quick pic and post to twitter/facebook or whatever, you will be happy.

also, the included photo editing SW is really nice and can make an otherwise "soft" image pretty good.

Yea...sharpening after the fact helps ALOT. But the camera is still pretty sad. The zero lag shutter is a joke. If it takes the pic right away. I know it's not in focus.

i can live with camera on nexus, but i'd rather take my time and get one good shot then a bunch of mediocre ones. i think my old thunderbolt was taking better pics then nexus and my wife's razr maxx takes pretty good pics also.
    Sony CM-B1201 > Samsung SCH-8500 > Motorola RAZR V3m > Samsung SCH-i760 > Motorola DROID X > HTC Thunderbolt > Samsung Galaxy Nexus/Motorola Droid Razr Maxx...

I've gotten some ok pics with the no shutter lag and not tapping the screen to focus. The sharpening helps a ton after, but if it's really out of focus, no amount of editing on the phone can save it

While one other phone on the market right might be able to get a better pic in the poorest of lighting environments, the zero lag shutter makes the gnex camera by far the most useful.

I have yet to see a smartphone that can take good pictures in low light. Ill say one thing. The Gnex camera smashes the Moto camera on the Bionic I used to have. That camera was horrendous. It didnt matter how much light there was, everything came out dim and noisy as heck. Not to mention it took forever to focus, so you'd end up missing a lot of shots.

EDIT: Took this today.. Photos taken with your Galaxy Nexus Thread

ot sure how much more people are expecting from a smartphone camera.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the pics it was able to do....exposure control is not the greatest and even with zero shutter lag deal its hard to get a steady shot(best result, tap to focus, then press and hold the shutter then release), white balance is actually ok...

Just a general question.....how many of you wipe the lens clean of fingerprints before taking a picture.

unless i am trying to snap a quick one, i do it every time.
