Other than the nationwide 3g/4g outage this morning and one random reboot that I blame on SetCPU and the kernel governor not responding fast enough to wake up when I unlocked directly to the camera, I've had no problems at all. No dropped/missed calls, no signal issues any worse than my OG in the same spots (middle of my building = no signal on either phone), etc. I don't regret moving from my OG to the Nexus at all.
AOKP M3 - Stock Kernel
I don't have 4G at work, or at home, but I have it in the middle. I just turned off my 4G, and haven't had any issues so far. No dropped calls, or anything. I have noticed the signal is weak sometimes when I turn it on, but it usually finds 3G within a few seconds. I'm loving this phone so far. Hopefully the update fixes this, and nobody will have anything to complain about anymore. I must say that the 4G is fast when it's on. I couldn't believe how fast the pages load. Can't wait till they get all the bugs worked out of that, and it's everywhere. Going from the OG to this is like going from a 74 Ford Pinto to a 2011 Corvette. There's really no comparison.
I've been reading around a bit, and it has yet to be decided if the weak radio on the Nexus can be resolved properly with a an update. Since I am not quite in a rush to upgrade I'm going to sit tight and see how this resolves.
I sure do love how the devs have hopped onto this unit. Someone will fix it...and I wouldn't be at all surprised if a dev comes up with it.
First droid I owned was the OG.. Sad to see it go, the speaker died and picked up the gnex to replace it. First day was kinda strange, left it stock and played around. Few things jumped out, the volume was super low. Volume + solved that, second Swype! I was pissed. Had to settle for slideit. What garbage. Second day, rooted since it was already unlocked and happy to say have had amazing battery life and no issues with calls or data. I am very pleased to see how many developers are grabbing this phone up and starting to make mods for it. Thinking this is the next OG as far as MOD support!
Just seen the post from XDA with a working swype! It works!!!!!!!!

For now at least, I'm getting as good or better reception on my Nexus as I did with my OG. Now the bars stink in comparison, but my house is in a dead zone, and I can actually speak on my phone in the house for the first time in ages. 3G data seems fine in this weak environment, too (so far at least... knock on wood). Your mileage may vary.
I just realized I hadn't copied the link correctly in my first post. It's:
It's a good writeup on the GN's reception and speed.
