    Going from Droid to GNex

Ok, so let me get this straight. Here’s the stuff I love about my OG Droid (CM7) and how I can get it on the GNex:

    Droid GNEx
    Removable battery Same
16GB Removable 16 or 32 GB internal, but partitioned as if it’s a removable card
Power widgets in notifications Use an app for it
Wireless Tethering Root and run wireless tethering

    Sound good?

Also, should I sell my OG Droid (Ebay) or keep it for a backup (or would I need a backup)?

Probably would get less than $50 for your OG, I'm personally keeping mine for a back up.

I talked my parents into getting smartphones last year, but they cheaped out and got LG Allys because they were 99 cents each. So I'm going to give my OG to my Dad, and hopefully when his contract is up he'll realize that a real phone is worth it.

What would be the reason for a backup phone?
In case there's issues with the new one or something?

I wonder since I had no backup when I got smartphones before, thanks!

Well just for any reason really. I had to send my original Droid in 4 times before I got one that worked properly. So it would be helpful to have a spare around in case you have to send the Nexus out for a screen crack or antenna replacement. Things do happen even to the most careful users.

Or you lose your phone and need to activate the old one while a replacement arrives or until you can get to a store. Very helpful and a life saver

No offense, but I was looking for a Droid to use for parts a few weeks back... Nothing decent shape for less than $75-$100. Mine was in pristine condition until a month back when the power button broke and I slid it across some asphalt.. Now it looks like the case got hit by a grinder. Can't wait to get me a new phone...
