Droid not charging

Couldn't find anything specific to my issue with this. I have the original Droid and it recently stopped charging. Well not entirely. Plugging it into a wall outlet it charges for a minute or so before it stops. I woke up this morning with a 30% battery. Now if I plug it into my computer I have no problems. Charges up with no issue. This is using the same micro USB cable as well.

Some other information that might be helpful. I'm running Cyanogenmod's 6.0.0-Droid and thats when I noticed it start to happen, about a week after I switched. I wiped everything when I switched to 6.0 just seeing if anyone else has experienced this issue.

I've tried the OTA update, manual update, factory reset and then updating and nothing works. When I install the OTA, it freezes and displays the exclamation. When I try to install it via the boot menu it aborts during the installation.

Am I ever going to get the update to work? ;~;

I must have missed a memo about how to keep things as is. When the 2.2 update hit, it bricked my droid. I had to reconfigure everything when I got the new one.

Tonight I did the update that allows Flash. It worked without bricking my phone, however my accounts, call log, shortcuts, etc. have been erased from my phone. My downloaded apps are still there, I think. I'm not sure how many I had moved to the SD Card.

Are my customizations gone for good? Is there a way I can have all of this stuff saved so I can reinstate it after an update if necessary? What other things should I be doing in case of emergency, like if my phone is hurt or stolen or some other disaster?

After 2.2 update

After I recieved the 2.2 update, and I mean about 2 weeks after, my phone is completely unusable. Motorola Droid. It is not a rooted phone, all stock.
1) The screen light will turn off for about 10 seconds after pressing the lock button, but then turns back on and stays on.
2) On the pysical keyboard, when I press 'j' it writes 'rwys' and a few numbers and symbols. When I press 't' it writes '< 5,/' and turns the phone off.
3) Opens up google search and puts 'ppppppppp' non stop in the search box. I can not even delete or input anything else.
4) Vibrate screen pops up and phone wont stop vibrating.

I cant acsess any apps, and if i'm fast enough I can still get into settings. I've pulled the battery, let it set for half an hour, and it still doesn't work.

So is this something from the update? What do i have to do to fix it? Or would I get a new one and have to lose everything?

lost/incomplete gmail contacts

My motorola droid was recently stolen. I cancelled the phone with verizon within an hour of it being lifted. I bought a new motorola droid on ebay. I set up my gmail account on the new phone, but the contacts that originated from my phone's contact list are gone. The only ones that downloaded onto the new phone are the email contacts that originated in gmail and my facebook friends. Thus, all of my phone numbers are gone. I actually first noticed them being gone around the same time I lost/cancelled the phone when I logged into gmail on a pc. Any idea what happened to my phone contacts? Is there some less-than-obvious place to look for them? Why would they disappear upon cancelling my phone or is that just a coincidence?

Wiping my SD card to sell phone

I'm thinking about selling my OG droid, only to upgrade to DX of course :). The SD card installed was pulled from my Crapberry Storm(may be irrelevant). I'm wondering what is the best way to format it, other than mounting it... hitting ctrl+a and then delete. Also, I have a couple apk's in a backup folder on the root of the card and am wondering if I can just move those to my desktop on my PC then move them back to my DX.

Hello,

Something has happened to my DI today, and I've been reading forum posts for over an hour and I can't figure out what to do.

1) I have a message that says, "Low on Space," and I can't get rid of it, however I'm not at all low on space. (I've tried syncing Google and it doesn't appear to be working).

2) I'm not receiving any new emails in my Gmail account.

I'd greatly appreciate any help or advice.

Frozen Touch Screen

This afternoon, all of the features on the external screen of my Moto Droid seem to be frozen. I can't unlock the phone, and none of the Back, Home, etc keys are working either. I took it in to a Verizon store, and the employees all claimed it was an issue due to the most recent upgrade. Anyone else having this issue? And if so, has anyone been able to fix it? Verizon's solution was to send my a refurbished phone (which I'm not at all happy with). Please advise.

I am here again with a simple question in which i do not know the answer.. how do i go about making my phone save as much general info to my sd card and not my phone... my phone doesnt appear to be saving anything to the SD card, but instead all to the phone.. i keeps saying, incoming text message rejected because there is no memory space... help?

My phone is a moto droid..

Don't Want to Confirm Contact

I like having a screen that only has the stock contact shortcuts of my friends I call most often. Since the latest update, I now have to confirm with a second tap that I want to call a particular person. Anybody know how to set it so a single tap on the shortcut and the call is made without the confirmation?

Message Notification Doesn't Take Me to Thread

Hi Everybody
This is my first post on DroidForums.net. I have been using my Motorola Droid all summer and love the phone. Just last night, I received my OTA 2.2 update (much later than everyone else seemed to get it) and have noticed that when i get a message notification and I tap it, it does not take me to the conversation thread but rather the general messaging screen where there is a list of threads. I do not have any third party messaging software installed and I have tried removing the battery and also doing a factory reset. It really is only a minor nuisance but it is one of the features that I loved so much about the phone when I first got it and I do miss it.

Does anyone else have this problem and does anybody know a fix?

Playing Videos?

When I want to play a video off the internet it will ask which player, and when I choose Video Player it goes into "Error File cannot be displayed or played" Then I try to play the same video by choosing Movies it comes up with "Cannot play video Sorry, this video cannot be played".. Any suggestions?
Not sure what type of video. It comes from the yahoo sports site. and videos from face book?
YouTube seems to work fine.

Im kinda sick of some the problems of using pandahome but im cheap and I really don't know which launcher to use. I don't want to buy a launcher that I don�t understand or that won't work with some of the other wallpapers I've already bought. Any input would be great.

Droid camera button causing mayhem?

Hey guys, i have an original Droid, that just this morning has started acting funny with the camera button. The camera button for whatever reason can control volume down, keypress C, P, K, and @. I can't figure out why it's doing this, and if there's a fix. :icon_eek:

Help with NFL App from Verizon

Hi All:

Okay a new NFL app came out and I downloaded it while not uninstalling the old one. Worked fine. Then I uninstalled what I thought was the old app but turns out was the new app. Fine. I then uninstall the old app. leaving no NFL apps on my droid. I then go to the market to install the new version of the NFL app again and I can't. The downloading bar indicator is visible and the only option is to "cancel download" which when I do (because it's not downloading) the market app force closes.

What's wrong and or how do I go about getting the new NFL app again?
