Hey guys, I'm not new to Android, I had a G1 that I never messed with much, and now I have the Nexus One. I've rooted it and done all sorts of things. Flashing Radio's and Kernel's and I'm currently addicted to CM6 Nightly's. I flash em, and post links on twitter nightly. lol.

Anyways, I've never done anything with the Motorola Droid. I don't know how it's recovery works, looks like, what the key's are. Or anything about the Moto Droid Community.. I just got a Moto Droid and I need some help Please!

My friend from work's Moto Droid got the 2.2 Update and he said it messed it up, started rebooting, forgetting contacts, & Loosing text messages. So Verizon did a factory wipe. Couldn't fix it so they replaced it.. He still had the old Droid so today I got it :D. I power it on and I just get a boot loop. That is all. I've read booting to recovery is holding "X" while booting. but all I get is this
http://twitpic.com/2lpio0
is that the stock recovery on the Droid? and then if I want better options I need Amon, or Clockwork or someone like that? Or can I get to some options from that screen and factory wipe?

I've also read something about this.
"Unroot/Unbrick using .sbf post from -ikithme-"
Is this my first step. Or is there more to the stock recovery. I just first wanna try wiping it to see how things go. but basically I get an endless boot loop and I have no idea what the noobs at the verizon store may have tried, or done. Any help would be extremely appreciated!

Thanks!

Hello.

I am currently attempting to tweak my Droid 1 phone. I haven't done a whole lot since I am new to rooting. (I have yet to completely read the forums here for rooting.) However, my main concern that I have is after I got the upgrade from Verizon for Android 2.2 (FRG01B) my phone actually got slower and my camera indefinitely force closes.

There seems to be no way to get my camera to work anymore. My gallery seems just fine. I tried to update my phone using this update.zip file:
http://mydroiddoes.info/froyo/update.zip

In fact, I have tried several different update.zip files and they all give me same error when installing:
"E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip (Status 7)"

I don't know if that will fix it even if I got it working but I thought reinstalling Android 2.2 might help.

Verizon (via 3G network) just updated my phone to FRG22D. The only rooting business I have tried is Universal Androot (with no further use) but this was all after my FC issues.

Any pointers?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I've been doing the whole rooted thing... its been fun. But I've had an issue with my camera and gallery for a while, and its finally annoyed me enough to get drastic. I'm either going to go completely out the box stock and it fixes my camera issue & I re-root, or I get back to OTB stock & my cameras still screwy and I do a warranty replacement. Either way I'm having issues finding a bone stock update.zip (preferably 2.1 if I can do that). I'm thinking if I can find that, un root with easy root, then use recovery to install the stock update. Am I all wrong with this? I don't have a computer, so I've gotta do it all on the droid in question. Rom manager wouldn't do it either, it gave me errors when it tried to install any of the provided stock roms. Sry if this is in the wrong place, I'm too frustrated to think clearly right now

Need a Touch Screen Cell Phone With a Screen that Can Be Sceen on a Bright Clear Day

Love my DROID except when I look at the screen on a bright clear day and see my reflection, and realize that it is this awareness that is really me....

Love my DROID except when I look at the screen on a bright clear day and see my reflection, and realize that it is this awareness that is really me. Here is an idea about how to solve this problem: (1) Place the DROID in a Motorol Multimedia Station and leave it there. (2) Add a second wireless telephone that does not have the glare problem the DROID has and forward phone calls to it. I feel the value of reliable, efficent communications is worth the differential cost between two wireless lines and one line less the cost of a landline no longer needed. The differential cost estimate I made is about $10 per month. What touch screen cell phone should I buy for use outside on a bright clear day is a question on my mind, can someone help me?
