Couldn't find anything specific to my issue with this. I have the original Droid and it recently stopped charging. Well not entirely. Plugging it into a wall outlet it charges for a minute or so before it stops. I woke up this morning with a 30% battery. Now if I plug it into my computer I have no problems. Charges up with no issue. This is using the same micro USB cable as well.

Some other information that might be helpful. I'm running Cyanogenmod's 6.0.0-Droid and thats when I noticed it start to happen, about a week after I switched. I wiped everything when I switched to 6.0 just seeing if anyone else has experienced this issue.

Good news, everyone!

smwoodward posted a working method on xda-developers to downgrade an Incredible running 2.2 to 2.1, even if it was un-rooted.

The original thread is here. However, he didn't have a high enough post count to link to files directly, which makes it a little harder to follow. Another forum member mirrored the instructions on his blog, including links to the necessary files.

I can confirm that this works (just did it). One thing to note (that the mirrored guide doesn't include) is that you have to have HTC's adb drivers installed; you can do this either through unrevoked (instructions here) or by installing and then uninstalling HTC Sync. I think the former is easier ... I'm also not sure if you have to use a specific version of HTC Sync for this to work.

But anyway, FREEDOM!

Alot of people are asking about the LauncherPro dock that I have pictured. I'm posting a file that has both the dock background and the text icons that Manup designed for this theme. Use whatever shortcut you want and just match the word icon up with what best describes what your doing.

Evolution_Dock.zip --> This is NOT flashable through recovery. This .zip contains icons and a background dock image that needs to be applied through the LauncherPro preferences.

Themed htc_ime keyboard: Download
Install with a file manager as you would any other .apk.

Special Thanks...

Manup456 for the theme and all the great work he creates
Pete for his work on Bugless Beast
All other themers for inspiring me and helping me get this done

Greetings, everyone.

About a week ago, made the switch to Android for my personal phone by getting a nice shiny Droid 2. For personal phones, I normally had been using some sort of WinMo phone, most recently being an Omnia (seems to be common amongst a lot of Droid owners).

So far, have rooted the phone and removed the Verizon crapware. Considering giving up my Zune HD and consolidating to one device - so far, liking Meridian for a player over the horrible stock player. By day, I am a software architect in the Microsoft .NET world. As such, I've put in a request to beta test MonoDroid. Been thinking about a few ideas that I might like to develop, but nothing firm as of yet.

Seems like this is a great community, so far. I plan on being an Android user for a long time to come - despite the fact my work phone is a Blackberry Bold. ;-)

Cheers,

Joseph

I need to know what is the system version for anyone running the leak froyo update for the droid X.

System version is under settings > about phone

it should say something like " version.X.X.X.X.MB810.verizon.XX.XX "

I found tons of threads on froyo on the X but none mentioned the version number.

I almost forgot, I also need to know the bootloader version on the bootloader screen. Should be either 29.XX or 30.XX.

Any help is appreciated

Ok here's the problem I'm having, it seems as though any froyo rom I've tried doesn't take to my droid to well. I've tried around 7 various 2.2 roms and they all lock my phone up completely after a reboot. If I let it sit and don't touch it for about 15 minutes it seems to run smoothly after that.

If tried so many tricks and tips I've searched for dealing with this problem.

Am I doing something wrong or is my phone unworthy of froyo?

I need some help loading this rom. I followed all the instructions to the dot on this one and everytime i did it the phone was in a boot loop. ok so first i rooted the phone using universal androot. then i installed koush's bootstrap. I then followed the instructions on the tranquility page which told me not to wipe or format. (Might i add that when i also tried Fly X i did wipe and format and it still didnt work.) Ok so then i let it load up and when it finally got done and rebooted it was in a boot loop. So whats the deal? Am i not doing something right? If so please lmk and keep it mature and professional please.

Adobe Kills Flash for the Milestone/Droid!

Sad news for those of you who are not doing tweaks on their system and just use it as it is, cuz Adobe just announced - there will not be flash for the milestone (suppose as well for the droid). Adobe raised the minimum hardware to a Cortex A8 800MHZ CPU and so Droid and Milestone are done with it!

Motorola was asked to the announcement and just replied, that "there are devices after the droid, capable of flash" - so just buy them. This is a little crappy, because all of you guys surely remember the youtube-movie by adobe, where chief of project Adrian Ludwig showed Flash 10.1 on THE DROID.

So what is the deal? Is moto having an ally with adobe to push new devices? or was it just to hard for adobe to implement flash on the droid? Whats your oppinion on it?
