As promised in last week's newsletter, here are the release notes for the second update of DVD Catalyst 4 this month:
April 2012 : DVD Catalyst 4.1.5.2
(4.1.5.1 was an internal build used for beta-testing)
New:
Collection of Backup AVI, MP4, M4V and MKV profiles, which work better for 5.1 audio and HD Media Players.
(found in device groups: Backup, AVI, MP4,MKV,M4V)
New device profiles, including HTC One series,TF300, XTEX Tablet and Motorola Atrix2, Admiral and i867 smartphones.
“Mitch” device group, which contains profiles I use for some of my own devices.
Fixed:
5.1 audio (I hope). A lot of work and testing went into this (thank you Morgan). Of course 5.1 doesn’t work on most portable devices, but for HD media players and such, the new profiles combined with 5.1 audio will work really well.
(works best with the new profiles. 5.1 audio is not supported on most Android/iPhone devices, so only use this for HD media players (WDTV for example) or HTPC servers.)
DVD Angles. Rarely used, but there was a bug in how DVD Angle selection was working, and this has been fixed.
(tested with 20 Million Miles to Earth, 50th Anniversary Edition).

And of course, I'm still running the 50% Off Special, $9.95, or, less than what most people spent on lunch.
About DVD Catalyst 4:
Watch your DVDs and MKV or AVI videos on just about any video-capable device.
DVD Catalyst 4 converts your movie and TV show collection to great quality video files that are perfectly optimized to play on devices such as the Apple iPad2, Apple iPhone 4S, Amazon Kindle Fire, Asus Transformer Prime, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Toshiba Thrive, Motorola Xoom and more.
Computers were designed to do repetitive tasks, but when it comes to conversion tools, many solutions force you to click through multiple pages before it converts your movie or TV show. DVD Catalyst 4 provides you with an easy to use, 1-click solution, which eliminates all those complicated steps, while still giving you complete access to every aspect of the conversion, but only if you choose to use them.
Besides offering the basic functionality that appears to be the standard for similar conversion tools, DVD Catalyst 4 simplifies complicated tasks such as black-border-removal/full-screen video, batch conversions and volume adjustment by automating them. Converting 1 video file or 100 video files, it does not make a difference. Just drag the files onto DVD Catalyst and with 1 click start a conversion.
