Getting Started:

While DVD Catalyst is very easy to use, for many new users, the idea of converting movies for a tablet alone is something that can appear quite daunting. There are many guides and apps available all over the internet, but many of them use (overly-)complicated terminology or require the use of multiple applications in order to get a movie on your tablet.

Here is a guide I wrote that explains everything in plain English, and is filled with pictures (screenshots) for everything, so all you need to do is follow along.

The guide looks quite long, but once you start with it, you will realize its just a simple 3-step process. Start program, insert DVD (or add your video files) and tap Go.

Many people underestimate the capabilities of what DVD Catalyst does because it makes the task of converting your videos so simple.

Most conversion tools use a step-by step interface, which takes you through each aspect of the conversion. While this is quite easy at first, 99% of the people who use it use the same settings, so there is no need to set these settings for every single conversion. DVD Catalyst does all these things completely automatic. Black bar removal (cropping), Screen size adjustment, volume adjustment and much more, all already set for you, so you don't have to worry about it. It explains in detail on why there are black borders when you watch them on your Droid, as well as on how to make your movies full-screen.

The screen resolution is also something a lot of people fight with. Aspect ratio, screen size, all things that DVD Catalyst automatically deals with so you don't have to, but again, if you want to, you can.

FYI...Xilisoft Converter Ultimate does the same thing. That's what I've been using for all of my movie/video needs.
