Changing emo icons...

Can anybody explain to me how to do this?

I downloaded an emo icon pack. i have extracted the drawable-hdpi folder replaced the framework-res.apk, but I still have the android icons only.

Any help would be appreciated

It depends. In order to change them Talk, you actually have to put them into the Talk.apk. I think gmail might accept the ones in framework-res.apk. But I know when I wanted it for talk, I had to specifically put it in that apk.

So the Talk.apk is what holds the emo icons for text messaging.

If I replce them in the .apk file do I still need to replace them in the drawable-hdpi folder in the framework?

Well, if you want it for text messaging, then I would say it is probably the mms.apk you want to change them in. I honestly never figured out what changing it in the framework ever did.

OK. Replaced them in the Mms.apk app. Now it wont let me install it?

At the end it states... Application Not Installed....

What are you doing for an installation process? Did you manually copy and paste the icons into the drawable-hdpi or just swap the folders?
