Facebook 1.4 Notifications

Ok so I keep hearing they fixed notifications with this update. So I have always got notifications when I open the app at the bottom of the screen notifications show up with the number. I was under the impression that we would be getting notifcations in the top task bar much like emails, texts, updates, etc. Can someone clarify this?

I believe the notifications fix was so that when you click on a notification it navigates in app instead of taking you to the browser, which it used to do.

I personally haven't seen a change with the update not nearly close to being as good as bb app or iphone im still using the mobile web to use facebook
