    Camera brightness issue

Hi everyone, I've been having a problem using my camera on my Droid X.
During preview of the image before I take the snapshot, it looks perfect.
But as soon as I hit the button and it takes a picture, this is what I get:

I tried to find out why, so I took many pictures, some in bright spots, some in dark spots.
    It tends to happen randomly.
I tried changing all the settings too: exposure, flash on/off/auto, mode type, everything.

What's the point of having a 8 MP camera if I can't even take nice pictures :[
    Helppppppp me pleasee

Are you waiting for it to focus first and then pushing it all the way down to snap the shot?

If that doesnt solve your problem, try purchasing the Vignette app. I was never pleased with the stock camera app on the X, so I dl that app as many people on the forums suggested, and I think it was worth it.
You can try the demo but it only allows you to shoot at .3megapixels.

Here's a photo I took yesterday at the huntington library:

Yeah, I'm waiting for the focus first. But that doesn't seem to help fix the problem.
I will try the app you suggested. Thanks!

From the look of the first picture, do you have the Flash set to On all the time? Check the flash setting...see if that helps...

    flash is not on.
I tried it with flash on, off, and auto.
    I get that issue regardless.

At this point I would carry it to the nearest Verizon store and ask for a replacement...there is no excuse for it to take pictures like that.

I have actually used my camera on my X for some nice shots inside and outside...would be seriously perturbed if my camera didnt work!

Unfortunately, I bought this item from another user as a brand new item.
So Verizon won't cover it for me through warranty.
At least that's what they said to me before when I talked to them before.

    Sorry for the late reply!
I tried Vignette, it seems to be working!
I don't get that brightness issue anymore.

I will be taking tons of pictures tomorrow everywhere to test it though.
I'm going on vacation soon and I DEFINITELY need to get my camera working properly.

    Thanks again, pointzero1!

    EDIT:
Hmm, so I'm trying to share the photo onto my Picasa.
I already created the account under manage accounts.
When I long hold on the photo, a dialog pops up, I then choose share, then I choose Picasa.
But it's making me create or sign in to my existing account.
Well, I try to sign in using my current gmail account, and it says I already have that account on my phone.
I didn't try to create a new account yet, but is that something I have to do?
