DROID X USB Mass Storage on Mac OS X Snow Lepard

Hi Guys!
I just got my brand new DROID X last night and I am LOVING IT!!!!!! However, I have one small issue. I have a bunch of stuff on my old DROID such as mp3s from amazon and photos I'd like to move over to my new one. Since the old phone worked great with my mac I got all that stuff off my phone but when I plug in my new DROID X, OS X doesn't see the device nor does the DROID X recognize the USB connection.

Any suggestions? I'd rather not have to use any additional software as I am used to just having access to USB mass storage to manage my digital content.

I had(have) the same issue with my droidx on one of my comps (I use osx, win7, and ubuntu)
The way I found around it on my mac was to install the bluetooth transfer app (free) then pair with the mac. After that I explore the droidx over bluetooth and copy the files over.

Not as fast as usb, but the only working solution I have come up with so far.

Yea, Bluetooth is probably the only solution for now. So much for Macs supporting all hardware. It would have at least been nice to use the USB cable as a charger when connected since this thing eats battery like crazy. Maybe if I fire up VMWare Fusion and run XP, I can get the drivers from Motorola, maybe that will work.

Did you connect the usb cable then switch the usb mode to mass storage? Works fine on my macbook, and mac mini both running snow leapord.

It is the cable or something. My and my wifes Droid X(s) connect to all our Macs no issue. Even my old PPC one.

I've tried several MicroUSB cables. When I plug it in, nothing pops up to enable USB mass storage under the notifications. I've dried it on several iMacs. Mine at home and the one in my office and I get the same result on both.

Go to Settings
Go to Applications
Go to Development
Turn on USB debugging

Then plug it back in. Anything?

umm. Here is another "fix" I found. How about:

• Lock your Droid X by pressing the top lock button
• Plug the Droid X into your Mac via USB
• Unlock the Droid X it using the on-screen slider
• The phone should beep - if it does not try locking and unlocking again
• Your Mac will install drivers if necessary
• Slide down the notification menu and select USB connection
• Select USB Mass Storage
• You should now be able to load files to the SD card directly from your Mac

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!

Hey Guys I figured it out. debaucher, try this too.

Remove your battery and make sure the SD card is properly and tightly fastened in. I removed the back andpushed the SD card farther in because it had a little play in there and I restarted the phone and whala!!!!!
