can't change a contact's group

I added over a dozen contacts to my Droid X. I then found that Missing Sync did not move them to my computer. It only ignores those. I have at long last found that they are in the group Phone Contacts, and apparently this group is not moved as it contains things like Voice Mail and things that shouldn't.

So I want to change the Group of these dozen contacts. As far as I can tell that is IMPOSSIBLE to do. Is this correct?

How do I get all this information (name, address, email, web site, blog site, etc.) to be in proper groups?

Or will this be "fixed" in September when Droid X gets OS 2?
