Droid X freezes while playing music

Hey i've been having this issue for a long time. When i play music on my phone in the car it just shuts off automatically. It gets real hot, i'm running liberty rom on a rooted 2.3.3/2.6.32.9 . It says it gets up to 91-93 degrees while playing music. I assume this is an overheating issue. Any suggestions? I have a rubber case, does that retain a lot of heat? Let me know your thoughts, i've searched all over and found really no answers besides "***** at customer service and get a replacement". Thanks.

Gingerbread (2.3.3) has known issues with music, I'm not sure if updates fixed it or not but 91-93 isn't anything to worry about

Well, i still have the issue. Any idea what it could be about? I figured it was because it was overheated. Still havent found any answers.

While I'm usually 100% against automated task killers, the X requires one to work around this bug. Hopefully an update will fix this, but for now downloading a "memory manager" app and setting it to "mild" does the trick. See here: https://supportforums.motorola.com/m.../458810#458810

Thanks a lot bloat. I'm against the task killers as well but if this fixes it and doesn't screw anything else up, i guess its worth it.

You're welcome! It's worth a shot anyway, since it's free and can be uninstalled. It certainly worked on my girlfriend's X, so good luck.

It makes me wonder, though, if there's a better solution.
