Screen Lock not working

Hi everyone, i have an issue with the lock screen on my droid x, it doesnt lock the screen, when i press power or home button to turn on screen it shows the slider but it disappears inmediatly and shows the last app i have been using or the home screen, i have tried turning on the security pattern and when it is activated the slider works perfectly, but if i turn off the patter the slider disappears again, i dont want to use any security, just want to slide to unlock, any idea? please help me.
