    Root Problem

    I followed the instructions from here: How to get 2.2, Rooted, on your Droid X - Droid X Rooting - AllDroid Public Board - How to get 2.2, Rooted, on your Droid X - Droid X Rooting - AllDroid Public Board - AllDroid.org > Home and tried to root my stock 2.1 phone to 2.2. However, after going through all the steps, dropping back to the C:\ prompt, and trying to access "su" from the "$" prompt, I get "unknown user root."

    Do I need to remove the files I pushed to the phone before trying to root again? I've rebooted the phone and it comes back showing 2.1 update1 is still the OS version. Searching on the forums, I haven't been able to find a solution so any help is appreciated!!

    No one can offer any advice or thoughts? Should I just try one of those one click root programs like easyroot or androot?
