IF you're on 30.04, and you've NEVER done the OTA to 30.04, and you've NEVER installed the TBH 2.3.320 update.. then it would probably be safe to .sbf to 2.3.15...
There is a lot of minunderstanding with this, and it adds a lot of confusion to the process.... but I hope this helps!

ok so I got the files loaded but when I hook up the phone there is nothing that comes up in the device properties. Uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers and still nothing. Also there is nothing that shows up in the file properties when I select the file to flash. Tried to toggle the deviceid with no luck.
You unzipped the .sbf, right? What version of windows are you on? Is it the oem cable or third party? Do you have a different machine you could try? Have you tried an ubuntu livecd with the sbf_flash utility?
yes unzipped. running win vista. (32 bit) I have another machine but it is the same os. Yes it is the oem usb cable.
Start by trying the other machine (after everything else in the faq) if that doesn't work I really, *really* recommend linux
I can try the other machine but it is the same os. WOW.....ubuntu is a 4 hr dl. Will that over-ride windows? or is it something that just works when I open it? NM....i got it..stupid question. lol.Quote:

and what you do is you burn the .iso to a disk, then boot from the disk, and use it as a livecd to 'test' ubuntu
from in there, you get the sbf_flash util, then plug your dx in through usb cable, and follow the tut instructions to flash the sbf file to your phone
in this route, it wont' override windows
you could also do a dual-boot, but since you're doing this only to flash the sbf file, i would say just use the livecd
