    After Root

I just rooted using z4. Then I think I backed up my apps using Titanium. Now what? How do I make a backup of my entire phone in case something goes wrong? What is the best app for tethering? Anything else You think I should do please mention it. Thanks

Reboot into recovery. Still down with the volume buttons. Make back up. Use the red key to select, the top lockbutton to go back.

i bought bootstrapper for droid x, then I started reading people had bricked their phones using it. What do you think? I am completely unexperienced in rooting.

If you are completely unexperienced, then I would recommend a lot of research before moving forward any more. I bricked my first X because I did not know enough about how to handle root. Luckily, I am well versed in Linux and through some reading was able to get the phone back to stock setup. I spent the next month reading and living on this forum and others to educate myself in the capabilities and how-to of rooting Android. Trust me, it makes a difference. I now have my X rooted running a custom ROM and configured exactly the way I want it. This forum is a fountain of knowledge; use it to its max!

    This is the easy part.

    Open Bootstrapper.

    Click Bootstrap Recovery.

    It'll show a success window.

    Click Reboot Recovery

The DX will reboot into recovery mode. It'll be green text. Use the volume control to scroll down to backup and restore. Click the Red camera key to select. Then click the red camera key again to start the back up. It'll let you know when it's done. Click reboot after it's finished. The nandroid backup file will be (should be) on your sd card.

I never read about anyone bricking cause of Bootstrapper.

I have read about bricking due to incorrect ROM'ing procedures or deleting something on the no-no list (which is basically any .apk that the phone relies on for basic function).

While you're at it, you should download the paid version of Titanium Backup and freeze any apps that you consider bloat-worthy, but don't be afraid to ask if you are freezing the wrong app. Also, you could rename the .apk file to .bak and it does practically the same thing as freezing them without paying for TB. But that requires downloading Terminal Emulator or Root Explorer...both of which can rename files.

***EDIT*** And I would try "wireless tether" for a wireless tethering app. There is also Barnacle..but I didn't have much luck with it.
