Rooting Droid X 2.2

I know for 2.1 there was the 1 button root. Does anyone think there will be for 2.2 as well. I am always scared going through files and changing file names and stuff like that, because if I mess up my phone I am screwed. I can't afford to replace it and I will be damned if I ended up with anything else besides a droid now.

I want to root my phone so I can put themes and stuff on it. Just weary of doing anything that has me goin into system files and such.

With any Batch file you run the risk of variables. Its better to learn how to use ADB now and take the time to learn it. Dont rely on the easy way out, thats how phones turn into paper weights.

Its alot easier then you think, just take your time. Also, deodexing is a pita compared to rooting, and you cant really theme without being deodexed... Unless of course you use an update.zip rom, but then again, you also dont learn how to do anything...

I want to learn how to do it. Just can't seem to find a how to that's for noobs.

I would look on youtube but a lot of videos on there are iffy.

Droid does better than ianything.

I used christim's step 2 option A located here on my Droid X with 2.2 OTA and it worked perfectly.:Multiple phones - Root them, unroot them
