Would using Titanium Backup to freeze these apps have the same effect?
Battery draining faster than before I removed bloatware. Got the phone rooted using Z4root and renamed the bloatapps with Root Explorer. Can you see where removing any of the bloat is causing the battery to drain faster than it should? Here's a list of the bloat [apps] I renamed:
I left all the odex files as is and I've rebooted a few times. Haven't used the phone long enough since I removed the crap to know if it's faster but it gives me great pleasure to defy the corporate pigs
Running Launcher Pro right now- no custom roms yet. First time I've rooted a phone so this is all new territory.
Have you ever wiped your battery stats? If not and you want too, try the following>>>
-Charge phone over night so you get it completely charged
-Right after you unplug it, run Droid X Bootstrapper
-Select Reboot Recovery and boot into Clockwork
-When your in Clockwork scroll down to "advanced" (using volume keys) and select advanced (with camera key)
-Then select 3rd option down "clear battery stats."
-After its done select "reboot phone now." If you don't see that option hit power button to back up a screen.

hello guys i read the thread and succesfully tried then after trying and failing to theme my phone i had to restore it(with clockwork) and now i can't do it anymore i tried root explorer and i can't get the MountR/W button to work anymore also tried Terminal emulator and they both give me the read only warning. is there anything else i can do or am i forgetting something?
Hi folks, I'm a noob in android & DroidX,
But why not use one of the new free uninstaller (the ones that need root access).
I read this topic and realize there are a "safe" list of bloatware for uninstall.
I use that reference to only backup to SD and uninstall those apps (the uninstaller software do both things automatically). I free like 50mb of ram of apps useless out of USA and out of Verizon.
The only issue is that if you want the uninstaller automatically restore of backuped apps you need to buy the pro version, but I haven't need to restore nothing yet.
ALSO battery life is the same no improve or decrease at all.
