I am trying to determine if I need to backup or worry about bricking my Droid X 2.3.3 when I root via One-click Root?
I am not sure what the chance is of bricking during this process. Or is the worst that I would have to reset the .sbf?

no you don't have to do anything, if anything goes wrong the worst you'd have to do is SBF
the nice thing about only messing with the software on the phone is that if you mess up, the worst thing that would happen is you'd need to .SBF
Read read and read some more then ask questions so you fully understand how to go about it.
