after RDS SBF flash stuck at the droid redeye on boot

after RDS SBF flash stuck at the droid redeye on boot
I was rooted but could not get into recovery. I therefore downloaded RDS 4.8 because 4.9 would never work. I flashed the SBF .602 and everything seemed to go well. When I got to the point where I was told to manually power up the phone, I did, that now is stuck at the reboot redeye. I also booted using the home team. I was able to wipe the cache but not the data. Rebooting from that window ended up at the same place, the droid redeye.
I tried to flash again with the RDS and it failed.
Any thoughts?
Thanks so much,
Jim

You will need to wipe data. You said it couldn't, why is that?

thank you for getting back to me. I have no idea why the cache will wipe but the data will not. I suppose it's the fact I cannot wipe the data had that prevents it from rebooting and sticking at the droid red eye?
I now have a useless droid X which I guess people referred to as being bricked!
Any suggestions? It's not even the right size to to use for doorstop.
Much appreciated,
Jim

Sounds like the inability to wipe data is the issue. It can't hurt to try a different SBF file though. At the very least your phone insurance should cover it

Thanks. I bought this phone used. I do not have insurance. Hopefully somebody from the patrol will feel sorry for me and help out.
I appreciate your help nonetheless.

Not a problem. Definitely try a different SBF file before you take it to vzw though

unfortunately, the other SBF files do not allow the start button on the RDS light to light up. Only the .602 allows that. Now, it will not flash.

Now it won't flash? What's the issue? Dead battery? As far as wiping data, are you able to get into stock recovery? It's different on GB:
Pull the battery and put it back in
Hold home and power as it boots
Release and hit both volume buttons at the droid/triangle screen
Use the volume rocker to move, power to select
Wipe data, wipe cache, reboot

Never mind, I see you got it fixed here
