    Pre-Rooting preparation help

    Pre-Rooting preparation (Froyo 2.3.340)
    Hi all,
    I have seen some really good threads on POST ROOTING but not so much on PRE ROOTING preparations (or I may have missed some threads on that part…)
    I basically want to know…BEFORE I root my DX, what is the latest news on types of apps or things do I need to get ready or load onto my DX before I actually start the root?
    I have Z4root 1.3 on my phone on stand-by…but want to make sure I am not missing anything before I start the root process.
    My phone specs (Droid x, Froyo 2.2.1 / 2.3.340, baseband 0.7)

    Actually you can't really do any kind of competent backup without rooting your phone first, but no, there isn't anything you need to do before rooting. After you root, your phone will be just the same as it is now, except that you'll be able to do whatever you want with it.
