Hello everyone,
I'm kind of a newbie at all this stuff, but after watching some videos, I have come to like cyanogenmod alot, but I also realize that it cannot be flashed to my dx. Why is this so? I've only heard about some locked bootloader or something or other, and I have no idea what that means. Also, will it ever be possible for cyanogenmod to be flashed to a dx? Thanks!

Yes it's because of the locked bootloader. Basically the main problem is the roms must be based on leaks. You'll probably never be able to use Cyanogen Mod. Cvps said he might try but I doubt it will be successful. Basically, next time you get a phone you might want to get one without a locked bootloader.

I returned my DX for an incredible becuz of the locked bootloader. It sux.

I sold my incredible for the dx, and im loving it. Its faster too.
I tried all roms on both I still do all the rom changes to my friends incredible my old one :)
so far only phone I find as fast or maybe even faster than the dx/d2 is tmobles new nexus S.
but on the droidx right now i'd only run one rom there's 2 versions one with blur one without. I chose with blur myself.
That's all in ur head bro. DX isn't faster at all. I've tested both extensively. Batt life is a little better cuz of the SLCD display but thats it.Quote:

Why when side by side I consistantly boot faster and can have a smoother scroll on the dx then inc setup identically with all my widgets and everything.
Secondly the incredible having htc sence slow's its alot
I found the incredible to run best with the hacked nexus one port.
to each is own I guess.
i'll dig up all my speed tests never seen the inc break 1400, just 1800 this morning with everything running on my dx even had yahoo messenger connected and recieved msg while test was running.

The locked bootlader on the DX is the deal breaker in my eyes. Makes rooting the phone a PITA in comparison to the Inc. Also slows it down A LOT.

I had both the dx and the inc on release day :)
took over a month to get my inc rooted, I got my dx and had it rooted on first reboot.
z4root makes it even easier now
d/l from market with phone and run done with that to add recovery I purchased bootstrap and I already owned rommanager.
