That's strange.
Do you have to stop and restart the tether connection to get it working for a while befor it goes dead again?

I'll be on my laptop and doing my business. Then I notice that the connection gets slow, I look at my phone and the 3G icon in the notification bar will not be there. Then it will appear and go out again.

Pda net and easy tether pretty much work flawlessly. I would just like to use wireless more. Especially since I will be getting an android tablet for Christmas:-)

Its not the 3g connection. its the tether connection. i just kept trying until i finally got a solid connection that did not stop. This happened on both my Droid and Droid X last month.
I never used the update but it should help. Try it first.

FYI you cant tether one android device to another. Thats what Ive heard i believe it has to do with the ad-hoc connection. Sorry

You can mod the wpa_supplicant to accept adhoc connections.

Wish there was a way to make wifi tether work in ap though. It would make life so much easier.

Sucks you can't tether to ps3.. Any way to enable adhoc mode?

Ya it does suck you cant tether to PS3. I live in the middle of no where and my only internet now is through . Before we had 26.4kbps dial up . Anyways, not sure if you knew this but you can connect to the internet with your PS3 through a Windows computer. Heres a short video.

Guys I might can solve all your problems with one app. If you will download the teamblackhat app from the market it has all the answers and downloads you will need to achieve access point and not ad_hoc with the free 3g hot spot app.

Ya id like to know what it includes before I dl it. I know there's some leaked roms. And it seems a good number of people have had problems with their apps. Have you tried the wireless app on the d2g? I may just connect through my computer, its simple enough...
