    Corporate email on Droid X

Anyone use the Touchdown app to connect to their corporate email? Does it work well? I can't seem to get connected.

Yes I do use it and I really like it. For me it works better than the stock corporate email.

I work for a big tech company and the help desk had a whole process for setting up Touchdown. Works great for me.

I use touchdown as well, and it works great. Have you tried setting up a regular corporate sync on your phone? Just wondering if it's a program problem, or a restriction on your sever.

    Thanks!

Thanks for all the replies. I initially tried to add an account since my company has webmail, but it wouldn't work. A forum I read said I needed to install a pfx certificate on my Droid. So I dropped the file onto the SD card, but when I go to install the certificate from SD card, it says "No .p12 certificates found." Did any of you have to deal with certificates when using Touchdown? Was the installation easy?

I did not have to install a certificate, but to connect to my server, a cert is not required. Yours may.

If it does, I believe there are ways to convert the cert to the proper format.

I access my Exchange account with the stock corporate account. Works well for me and it is free!

The corporate sync worked okay, but I couldn't see email that was sorted into other folders without opening that folder directly, and there was no notification that I had a mail in there before opening it. It was well worth the price of touchdown for that capability alone.

I use the stock client but we used to use Touchdown for most of our users. It work works good but costs $20 for each phone you install it on. Had a phone come in today and had to remove it to get the phone to sync. So I'd recommend skipping it if you can. Talk to your IT staff for their recommendations.
