Removing a "folder link" from the screen

I hope this is the right discussion for this problem.
I purchased the folder organizer app to clean up my home screen. The app works great but I decided to click on android widgets and place a "folder organizer folder link" onto the home screen. Because it is so large, I want to remove it. It will not "drag" to the trash can symbol. When it gets there, it turns red and wont delete. Will someone tell me how to get this monster off of my screen before I throw it! THanks for any help you can give me on this! Also, if you have suggestions for a better folder management program, I would love this too.
BTW, this is on a Droid X if it matters.
