Ok, one more nob question 2nite: no email when charging?

Sorry, I know I'm new here. Just got it the DroidX today after lurking for a while. Actually took a half day off work to do it. Ok, I had some other stuff to do but this was the highlight of the day!. MY name is Chris and if you have any motorcycle questions, I'm your guy. I live on a Suzuki forum, so I realize what it's like when new people come on, so thanks in advance for the help, I do appreciate it!

Anyway, of course I played with it to death, installing this big list of apps I wanted, it's all going swimmingly except the Verizon rep saw my Gmail contacts come in and so she didn't import my previous PHONE'S contacts, with the PHONE numbers in them. So the battery is dying, I plug it into the charger and I'm on the web on my PC and I notice I'm getting email on the web, but not in the Gmail widget? What gives? I got some earlier, before I was charging it seems.

What battery mode do you have it on? If you have it on smart mode you might have it set up to cut off data during a certain time period and that might be now. Also under account and your gmail is the sync still on?

It was in smart mode. Not that slick but my last email received was at 4 pm or so. I did a sync and it picked up a couple that were unread (forum post reply notifcations).

Hmm. It must have something to do with the charging. I'll send myself an email from another account and play with it.

Are you using the stock gmail app or just the mail app?
