I unplug the head phones or you can open the app
I'm not using any headphones and when I hit the menu hard button in the app, there's nothing for "Exit" or "Stop."
Just hit pause and back out of the app.
When you're in the music player app, simply press pause and then use the back key (may require a few presses) or the home key (one press) to exit.
You can get to the pause screen by clicking on the notification, or clicking on the song name at the very bottom of the musice player.

Click on the application drawer button (brings up all apps)
Find music, click
Go to "now playing" and pause it, and exit out but pressing the home button
If your music icon is still seen in your notification bar, then after pausing it, hit "clear"
When you pull the bar down, hope that helps

So there isn't a complete "Exit" or "Stop" function at all?? Weird.
I had a post about this. When you do hit pause, if you go into your settings from the home page, and look at the applications that are running, the music IS stopped. How hard would it have been to put a stop button in the program?
