I havent tried Media Share yet, but I use eStrongs File Explorer and Linda File Manager on my Droid to transfer files over Wifi. eStrongs is easier to setup, but they both work fine.

I will play around with Media Share tonight and see if I can figure out how it works.

Is your PC setup to allow file transfers on a network? I think its called File and Printer Sharing. I had another PC on a home network so mine was already setup. Its possible that could be the problem.

Thanks for the reply jroc. I don't mind using a different app to accomplish the same goal if I have to. I just can't imagine that this functionality wouldn't be built in to the existing apps. I don't want to get all weenie and plug the damn USB cable in, either.....although I'm headed in that direction. Hehehe.....

Have you checked out the Awesome Drop app?!!

This is pretty sweet! And the easiest way to get music, pics, or files on your phone.

Its free and there is no account required.

You just download the Awesome Drop app, then go to the website from your computer. You type the code on the screen into your phone and you are connect! You then drop music or files into the web drop box they immediately transfer to your phone! (save on SD card)

Very Very easy way to get anything on your phone from your computer...

I was trying to figure this out, and I stumbled on this thread. Luckily, I found out how shortly after!

The "Media Share" application sucks. You can hardly do anything with it.

Use the normal file browser, browse to your network share. Then when you find the folder or file to copy LONG PRESS on it. Then select the "Copy" option. After you do this a "paste here" button shows up on the screen. Simply browse to your phone where you want the files and hit the paste here button.

I was able to copy an entire folder of mp3's from my network share on my computer to my phone over wifi using this.

Heck....I use Astro w/ the bluetooth plugin (or wireless plugin) and just "copy" my mp3's then" paste" into my mp3 folder.
VERY easy and you could do the same without astro and just use bluetooth transfer( free app)
