    Dumb music players!

Help! I have tried several music players and really don't like any of them. I got rid of my Zune planning to use my moto Droid instead (I don't keep a ton of music on my device at any one time). However, each time I try to put music on my phone I get all of these duplicated albums, playlists I didn't create, etc. I've tried MixZing, etc. but I think the stock player is closest to what I want. I've tried Songbird, Moto Media, Double Twist, etc to sync also. All I want is to put my albums and playlists from WMP onto my phone without a bizillion duplications and wierdnesses. I want to delete all of the current music on my Droid (which I thought I did using Root Explorer) but it isn't deleted so I'm missing something. Once I clear off the old I just want to drag and drop albums from my computer to my phone because all of the sync stuff sucks. I miss my music in the car...can anyone help??

Edit..oh yeah...can anyone tell me why WMP divides my albums into 2 or 3? This makes sync'ing hard to begin with!

I hate to say it, but I've found iTunes/iPods to be the best at music organizing. And I'm pretty anti-Apple in most cases.

Ive found the easiest way to sync is to just drag and drop into a folder on your phone and organize it yourself from there. Then if you need to, download an mp3 tagger from the market to fix any issues that arise.

On the topic of music players, "3"/Cubed and Lithium Player are cool on device music apps. And Mspot is a cool cloud to device music streaming app.

I do all my own tagging because auto syncing usually never gets it right. I don't listen to a lot of mainstream music so this is to be expected. When you listen to genres like DnB, Jungle, Dubstep, Triphop, Downtempo, it's nice to be in full control of it. I personally LOVE the program mp3tag, freeware as well.

I won't be using my X for a music player as far as mp3s though when I have my Creative Zen Vision:M going on it's fifth year of life. The radio on the other hand will be a different case, just curios to test it out and see what internet radio stations the X can handle.

haha... welll lately macs/apple is sorta optimized in music/movie/art making.

But i aswell have stopped using my iPod Touch 2g for my droid. (Figured out a way to sync my droid with my itunes)

Winamp is king. Add Streamripper and few others it is priceless. I have deleted Windows Media on all my PCs, wish they came up with a verrsion for OSX.

I can't speak for the more advanced features as I divide my music up by playlists only, but I've found Motorola Media Link to be more than adequate for my needs and as long as you use it exclusively to manage the songs, it works reliably and usually with no duplication. It can also import itunes playlists for those migrating from that horrible program (imo).

Is there some trick to getting the songs in an album to show up in the correct track order? Mine seem to be displayed alphabetically. I had originally copied the songs to the card via a card reader. After noticing the order being wrong, I saw a suggestion to sync (from a Mac) with a program like double twist. I created a playlist, sync'd, and the songs are still out of order. Any suggestions?

I've been playing with the same thing for a day or so as well, and did the same with like 5 mp3 player devices over the years, and heres what I have learned....

Windows Media Player Sync DOES NOT WORK, on any player or device, it always is gonna fudge something up, period.

I hate apple more than life itself, but I'm an honest techie, Itunes is the best, hands down.

Ive been just straight up throwing my music Itunes folder to the X through the SD card, and the X is doing a good job of figuring it all out, then tweak from there.

Also, there are a few cool itunes sync apps that work well, one i found is on wifi actually and works well
