Signal strength - blue and white

Talking about the 3G symbol and the four signal strength bars on the status bar at top. Why are they sometimes white and sometimes blue. What is the deference between 4 blue bars and four white bars?

When the bars are blue, that means the phone is synced with Google's servers.

I have always thought of it as the stability of connection...if they are blue, the connection is stable and the white means it searching for a better connection.

Cool, but what does that mean? What is the difference between being synced and not being sync ed with google servers? What will my phone Do when synced as oppossed to not synced ?

The market is synced through Google servers, if you have your contacts backed up with Google, Gmail and other Gapps use your Google account... pretty much anything that has to do with the Google account on your phone.
