    There are apps available that don't require rooting for screen shots. You can find them in the market.

    Basically its nothing more than taking a picture of the screen on your phone, without using a camera. Mostly its used to share your phone setup with other members of the forums. You could also use it to help set the screens back up if you reset your phone.
