My DX keeps restarting on its own..is that normal? Does it already once a day..mainly when I receive a text and go to read it... Really pisses me off.

try rebooting into recovery and wiping cache....
turn the phone off... hold power and home till the android dude comes up...
if your on gingerbread: press both volume buttons... then use volume down to scroll to wipe cache partition and select with power.. then reboot
if your on froyo: press the search key... then use the volume buttons to scroll down to wipe cache partition and select with the camera button then reboot
We have nothing to fear but running out of beer
Dont mind me... i'm just falling...
Thanks...now how often should I do this clear cache?

My phone would randomly reboot itself when playing a game or use an app of any sort and i touched the volume button. This was when i was on the TBH 602 update. Hasn't happen since going back to 596.
Maybe this:
While I'm usually 100% against automated task killers, the X requires one to work around this bug. Hopefully an update will fix this, but for now downloading a "memory manager" app and setting it to "mild" does the trick. See here: https://supportforums.motorola.com/m.../458810#458810
Do you like uninstallable bloatware?
It takes about 5 minutes to complain and it's kinda fun. Let's not be complacent!

My 'droid X has been restarting after shutdown. It's stock, not rooted, Sys version 4.5.605.MB810.Verizon.en.US, Android version 2.3.3. I recently updated it (I do that whenever notified), and now it wants to restart after I tell it to shut down. I press the power button, get the shutdown/airline mode etc/ menu, and tell it to power off, and it does. Six minutes later (roughly), I get the powered on tone. Shutting down a second time usually works.
Wifi and Bluetooth and GPS are off. I have very few apps -- most of what's running are bloatware things from V. I do have a app killer (Adv Task Killer Free), but it doesn't autorun. I have tried using it to shut down all apps prior to power off, but that hasn't helped.
This only started after the latest update.
