    Droid X rooted gets auto updates

    I have rooted this phone twice now and did step by step instructions and all of the sudden I get an update and the phone acts like it is not rooted anymore. Wifi tether will not work a week or so after I verified that is worked. It says unable to start tether is your phone rooted?

    I used Z4root, Droid 2 bootstrap and am running gingerbread. Z4root no longer shows in the app tray. In settings it says I have android version 2.3.3. Any help.

    z4 no longer works. Search around, there's apps that work to root your phone now. You probably got the new GB update like I did. I can root but still can't tether...
