Should I Sell my DX?

Hello, Droid Forums! I got my Droid X almost a year a go...it'll be a year this Christmas. It's been an awesome journey, what with it being my first smartphone, and such an awesome one at that. I love my DX. I've been through it all...rooting in Froyo, trying to unroot for GB update, getting a bootloop, having to completely wipe the phone's hard drive and flash the factory Froyo .SBF so I could do the OTA update to Gingerbread, and now I'm happily running Gingerbread...without root, because I haven't found a method I find "worth it" yet. Anyway, I've discovered over this past year that I'm a HUGE modder. The only stock app I use on my Droid is the dialer, and that's because I found GoDialer and RayDialer somewhat slower to launch. I use an alternate launcher, but that's mainly because Motoblur is just unpleasant to use. As many know, Motorola hates freedom for some reason, and they locked their booter, so I can't flash custom ROMs to play with on my phone. It's highly disappointing, because I wanted to try CyanogenMod without having to wipe my phone a second time (I've just now gotten most of my apps and settings back from my old configuration) and I just found the MIUI ROM. MIUI looks beautiful and from what I've heard, functions very well. But it's not available for DX because, again, Motorola doesn't like making their users happy and they decided to create a paradox...a closed phone running Android. I'm just thinking, because the DX2 isn't a whole lot better, spec wise, than my DX, and because my DX is in such great condition, I think I could probably sell it for a decent amount, maybe $200-$300, possibly more, and with the money buy a more open phone, like a Nexus or something. I may even want to trade my phone on Craigslist. Basically, I just want a phone I can play with So, thoughts?

TL;DR-Motorola sucks, closed up my phone before I got it so I couldn't do any cool shtuff with it, now I want a more open phone, so I think I want to sell/trade my DX so I can mod away...

You can run a CM nightly or MIUI on the DROIDX. Locked bootloaders suck, but you can still rom it up.

Don't get rid of it. U will regret it. Trust me. It loves you. Even though they can act a B sometimes.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. @prime, I actually did load MIUI onto my Droid, but I'm having huge troubles. Basically, it does a factory reset every time I power off my phone and turn it back on. And I mean it gets rid of my accounts, apps, configurations in MIUI, and Verizon's service (I have to call in and activate it again). I made a thread for help where you can read more details if you want.
