I have a D1 with the original battery. I've never "conditioned" the battery. I get about 10-12 hours out of my phone with moderate use.

It sounds like there is an OS issue. You need to do a factory reset, and go from there.

well computer experts suggest doing that with laptop batteries so i figured it would work on the same principle as our phone batteries.

Worse comes to worse, i guess the OP could buy an extended battery from Verizon.

wow! i think you might be the exception, rather than the rule. i had to replace my battery, but only once since i got my OG - that's not too bad, imo.

I was actually considering buying an extended battery, now that I am having this issue. I just did a factory reset about 3 months ago, which I really hate doing...

How do I go back to froyo?

are you rooted?? if not, you would need to root your phone, and then .sbf it back to froyo. there's lots of threads and links about doing so in the DX Hacks section. i have a D1, so i'm not real in tune with the procedure for DX. if you don't feel like rooting, i would try the new and/or extended battery route.

I might have to do factory reset. It drains pretty fast. In four hours its drained. One time the battery status looked okay, green status but right after responding to one text, it turned yellow, 20% left, right after I sent the reply.

    Any thoughts on juice defender?

I use Juice Defender and I think it's great. My X battery used to need charged around noon after charging all night. After I installed Juice Defender all of my battery issues are gone.

    1) Go into Settings--->Battery--->Nightime Saver Mode..this is actually IMO a better setting than Maximum Saver, at least on my Droid X.

    2) Your e-mail accounts, do they sync on their own? What type of schedule? Sync only over WiFi or over 3G as well? Set them for WiFI Only if you are in a good WiFi area...extend the times out if you are mostly on 3G.

    3) What type of signal reception do you have, Great, Good, Lousy or 2 Soup Cans and some String? If your signal reception is Low, your phone will work harder trying to stay connected and trying to bounce between stronger towers. If signal is really bad, but a free WiFi connection is available, switch the WiFi on and keep it on until you are in a better 3G area.

    4) Do you have any Social Widgets, RSS Feed Widgets, Weather Widgets or any other Widgets/Apps that like to update themselves regularly? If so, what are the refresh times for each? Can you set them to only update on a Manual Push? If not, then set the frequency to the longest permissible time frame for your ease of use and lifestyle.

Thats basically all my "tricks" that I utilize to keep my Droid X going for upwards of 17-20 hours on any given day....I hope they might help you as well..."

Wow thank you very much for.taking the time, Body Bagz! Let me try and answer all of them.

    1. I am on night mode, always
    2. I get great signal.
    3. I don't really use my wifi, should I? Because I'm afraid that if I'm not home, I will forget I have it on, and it might keep searching for wifi and drain my battery faster.
    4. Widgets, only power control
    5. Email sync, I think every hour.

You have the power control widget.

Then how would you forget to turn off wifi?
